2.1 Ferrous alloys
Melting beds are specific to the melting media used. In general, they comprise three types of component.

Metallic materials
They include the following:
new cast irons for various analyses delivered in pigs;
size-graded scrap metal for bulk deliveries;
bundles of sheet metal offcuts, mostly from the automotive industry, unfortunately increasingly coated with zinc to combat bodywork corrosion;
of bocage or offcuts of various castings;
