grain refiner; grain refiner
Constituent that serves as a model for a phase during solidification. The large number of seeds leads to a multitude of small entities (grains). This is known as a refined or fine-grained structure. In the absence of refining, the grains are fewer in number and therefore larger.

Alloy containing more than one alloying element.
anti-biofouling; anti-biofouling
Ability of a surface to prevent the proliferation of organisms generally found in aquatic environments (algae, shellfish, etc.).
coulabilité; castability
Ability of a metal to fill a mold.
