1. Wire drawing

1.1 Wire rod

Wire drawing uses wire rod as the starting material, with diameters ranging from 7.5 to 20 mm. It is obtained from liquid metal using two different processes. Figure 1 compares the steps involved in the conventional and CLC (continuous casting and rolling) processes.
