2.1 General
A large number of factors govern the spinning conditions of aluminum alloys. These factors depend on the following four elements.

ability to deform by extrusion ;
resistance to deformation ;
critical quenching speed (for press quenching) ;
these factors being conditioned by the alloy's composition and its state of homogenization before spinning.
