Cutting refers to all operations designed to produce components that are formed and then assembled to produce a more complex device or assembly. In general, the term cutting refers to operations carried out mechanically (shearing, punching, sawing, etc.), whereas the term cutting refers to thermal cutting operations (plasma, laser, etc.).
