The results used here are published by Materials Information Technology Station.

For almost 40 years, Japanese researchers at the National Research Institute for Metals have been carrying out very long creep tests on 49 alloys, including 42 steels among which we can find grades standardized in Europe.

The originality of the Japanese analyses of the results obtained lies in part in the fact that parametric methods were used to quantify the relationships between the parameters defining, for each grade, the operating conditions, temperature, unit load and time, and thus to synthesize the results. Four formulas were used;

  • that of LARSON and MILLER P=T[lg(t)+C]
