Section 1 showed that, on the basis of well-identified plastic deformation mechanisms and information from physical metallurgy, establishing a single-crystal elastoplastic behavior law was relatively simple and straightforward. For a polycrystalline bulk element, on the other hand, which constitutes a highly heterogeneous system, such a direct approach is impossible.
