3. Applications
By way of illustration, we present some results obtained for simulating the behavior of low-carbon steel sheets intended for forming. These sheets are produced by conventional processes (hot rolling, cold rolling, annealing) and therefore have an initial crystallographic texture measured by conventional X-ray techniques. Average grain shape is determined by metallography.
As the crystal lattice is of the cubic-centered type, plastic slip is described by two families of slip systems {110} <111> and {112} <111>, leading to 48 slip systems if we distinguish between the two directions of slip. Elastic behavior is considered isotropic (Lamé modulus λ =120 GPa, µ = 80 GPa).
