1. Using formulas and templates

Before exploiting the calculation methods, it is necessary to examine how they can be put to practical use.

  • We can cite at least the following cases:

    • used internally by the manufacturer to control processes and sequences of operations in order to guarantee the desired properties;

    • estimating properties on finished products without mechanical testing ;

    • expertise in special cases, e.g. isolated samples whose properties are neither known nor easily measurable;

    • metallurgical engineering, i.e. the design of new or optimized grades for a given application; this is the most complex case, requiring quantified knowledge of numerous properties.
