2. Composition of aluminum alloys
An alloy is made up of three types of additions:
alloying elements, which determine the alloy family;
additions, which are added to modify certain properties ;
impurities.
2.1 Alloy elements
They determine the nature of aluminum alloy families and their common basic properties. There are 5 of them:
copper ;
manganese ;
silicon ;
magnesium ;
zinc.
