1. A wide range of uses for fly ash in the construction industry

In our article [C 5 374] , we pointed out that ash from coal combustion in thermal power plants has specific characteristics and properties in terms of fineness, shape, pozzolanic and hydraulic activity.

Thanks to these characteristics, fly ash can be put to a very wide range of uses in various construction fields, as a binder or aggregate (fines), particularly in road and rail infrastructure, where earthworks are a major concern.
