3. Hot water production systems. Design rules

3.1 General composition

Any installation can be broken down as follows:

  • laproduction, whose components are :

    • energy source: conventional fuel (oil, gas, coal, wood), electricity, heating network, solar energy or recovered energy (refrigeration unit condenser, for example);

    • the heat transfer device, which may be integrated into the DHW production unit, or use boilers or heat exchangers that heat an intermediate fluid (indirect production);

    • an optional hot water storage unit, either part of the heating system itself, or physically separate from it.
