12. Conclusion
Lime has come a long way since it was first used by the Romans over two millennia ago. This particularly diversified development is due first and foremost to its physical and chemical properties, which have made it so popular, and then to the mastery of its manufacture on an industrial scale. But it is also due to the commitment, since the middle of the twentieth century, of an entire community to the same objective of innovation in the service of efficiency, performance and economy.
Investor, researcher, designer, entrepreneur, equipment manufacturer and lime producer, each in his or her own field, in a climate of perfect collaboration, contributed to advancing knowledge and opening the way to new applications.
