8. Conclusion
The development of uncooled infrared detection technologies has revolutionized infrared imaging, offering detectors and therefore systems at increasingly affordable prices. As a result, new applications are emerging, and the growing market is driving further research into the development and production of even easier-to-use, higher-performance detectors at ever-lower prices.
Studies are focused on reducing pixel size, either to reduce the size of the focal plane and therefore that of the system, or to increase spatial resolution by increasing the number of pixels. Reading circuits are also evolving, incorporating more and more functions designed to facilitate their use or enhance their performance.
The development of uncooled infrared systems is following a path somewhat similar to the explosion in visible detection with the development...

Directory
We need to distinguish between the small number of developers of uncooled infrared detection technologies and the large number of manufacturers of systems or cameras based on these detectors. This box gives an overview of the players involved in the development of uncooled detection technologies. These players supply the market with detectors or modules (detector + implementation electronics) for infrared systems.
