4. Conclusion

In the end, an MDE approach based on lighting needs is nothing more than the search for the "right lighting". But, as we showed when defining the need for lighting and its response, the right lighting is only a question of judgments placed in a context.

Today's context is one of strong, steady growth in demand for lighting, and a new determination to stabilize, if not reduce, energy consumption and the environmental impact of lighting. As we have seen, the compromises that enable us to reconcile these conflicting objectives are essentially based on technological developments and in-depth expertise in the subject.
