1. Radiometry reminder

Optical radiation is essentially characterized by :

  • its geometry, i.e. the spatial and angular distribution of radiated energy, both at the emitter itself and in the space in which it propagates. The corresponding properties are governed by the laws of geometric radiometry;

  • its spectrum, i.e. its energetic or photonic distribution as a function of wavelength, which is analyzed using spectroradiometry techniques;

  • its evolution over time ;

  • its independence from the lighting environment ;

  • other parameters, such as efficiency, consumption, etc.
