2. Description of laser physics
The main physics used to dimension a laser system are listed and described below:

solid mechanics ;
thermal fluids ;
fluid mechanics ;
ray tracing, optical aberration analysis.
2.1 Description of a typical physics module
A physical object is associated with a material that has several characteristics described by parameters (figure 6 ). Parameter values are defined by the software's material database, where they are entered by the user.
