4. Conclusion
Multiphysics codes are a real step forward in the design of complex systems such as laser sources.
In all likelihood, their use will become more widespread in the future, and they will be increasingly user-friendly. Initially generalists, they now encompass increasingly diversified and specialized fields of application, even including the physico-chemical and biological behavior of certain materials.
Financially, they remain expensive, but their democratization, the development of competing offers and open source codes will make them accessible to the R&D teams of small high-tech companies, where they will be a considerable asset.
