3.1 Multiplexers/demultiplexers
Jobin-Yvon, in France, manufactures multiplexers/demultiplexers on request: two examples are given in table 15 . Photonétics (France) offers a "standard" 40-channel multiplexer, whose features are summarized in Table 15 . In 1999, JDS (Canada) announced a device of this type, which is not yet included in its catalog. It should be noted that the current trend among telecom manufacturers is to increase the number of channels by reducing the channel spacing (50 GHz) for 2.5 Gb/s applications in the classic band, or by keeping the 100 GHz spacing to cover the extended band, thus targeting 10 Gb/s applications and beyond....
