7. Key features of cameras and sensors

Without wishing to be exhaustive, here are the important characteristics that condition the performance limits of cameras employing these detection matrix technologies. We have grouped them into two families: characteristics that contribute to image quality, and other characteristics. In summary, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is the parameter that defines the sensitivity limits of each device, particularly in low-light conditions.
