2. Topographic Lidar

2.1 Targets

Soils and built-up surfaces (concrete, bricks, asphalt, etc.) are diffuse and/or specular hard-surface targets impenetrable to laser radiation, absorbing part of the incident radiation and reflecting the rest back into the half-plane ( 4 ). The scattered fraction determines the albedo (or reflectance): 0 ≤ ρ c ≤ 1. 4 illustrates the different types of reflection:
