10. Metallurgical data
The chemical aspects of the extraction, preparation, processing and application of metals and alloys represent only part of the coverage of the metallurgy holdings. However, these sources (table 4 ) sometimes contain information that is not included in the chemical holdings. Metadex (Metals Abstracts) is the reference database in the field. Chemical Abstracts devotes three sections to metallurgy: 54 (extractive metallurgy), 55 (ferrous metals and alloys) and 56 (non-ferrous metals and alloys).
