Chemical hazards can be divided into two groups:

  • biological risks, which are studied by pharmacology, which determines both their toxicity or safety and their potential therapeutic uses;

  • physical hazards (especially flammability and explosibility), which determine the regulations governing their use, as well as safety, handling and environmental rules.
