1. Preliminary remarks

The characteristics of amorphous ferromagnetic materials covered in this article relate to various parameters, some of which are already defined in other treatises: Electrical Engineering and Electronics. For convenience, they are briefly redefined in the comments to each table. Numerical values are given only for magnetic alloys currently on the market; many other compositions were previously introduced to the market, then abandoned in production for various reasons, often for their lack of thermodynamic stability.

The values given in the tables should be treated with caution, given the wide range of possible heat treatments and the dispersion in the preparation of these materials. This is particularly true for static and dynamic magnetic properties (tables
