6. Paint industry

The essential component of a paint is the film-forming element, whose role is to bind the other elements of the formula, which are pigments, fillers, additives and volatile compounds.

6.1 Constituents of conventional paints and grinding equipment

The binder is a raw polymer of natural origin (polysaccharides, oils or bituminous products), processed (cellulose, rubber or oil derivatives) or synthetic (acrylic compounds, polyesters, aminoplasts, phenoplasts, silicones, polyaddition of epoxides and polyurethanes...).
