5. Conclusion
This article gives an overview of COSMO-RS and its applications for engineers. The first part sets out the basics of the theory and mentions its various implementations, then conceptual maps are drawn up on the basis of academic literature and patents concerning COSMO-RS. Next, the properties that can be most directly predicted by the theory itself are listed, detailing the equations that are all related in one way or another to the fundamental quantities of COSMO-RS, in particular chemical potential. The predictive power is illustrated by a few examples of comparisons with experimental data.
COSMO-RS is little taught and relatively little used in France at present, despite the fact that this method has great potential as an aid to decision-making and experimentation for engineers. This article is an attempt to bridge this gap. Readers are encouraged to find out...
