Three-way" catalyst: catalyst operating at stoichiometry and simultaneously oxidizing CO and HC and reducing NO x . It is fitted to gasoline-powered vehicles.

Cerine: cerium oxide CeO 2 widely used in automotive catalysts to store oxygen thanks to the redox properties of the Ce 4+ /Ce 3+ couple. This property enables the catalyst to continue working during rich phases (deficient in O 2 ).

TOC (total organic carbon): measures the quantity of carbon included in all organic pollutants in water.
