Miniaturized total chemical analysis systems" or µ-TAS, which were once confined to analytical chemistry, have been extended to other applications, and are now known as Labs on a Chip (Lab on a ChipLOC). These miniaturized systems offer numerous advantages: they enable precise control of circulating liquids, minimize reagent and sample consumption, promote short reaction times, enable parallel analyses, require little or no energy, are transportable and have low production costs. .
Today, microfluidics has applications in the fields of biology, chemistry and physics.
