1. Experimental kinetics

Figure 1 describes the two main approaches, apart from purely empirical ones such as multilinear regression, to developing a kinetic model of the chemical transformation, from which the mathematical model of the transformation can be derived. In all cases, material and energy transfer phenomena, referred to as physical kinetics, may need to be taken into account.
