2. IPSec VPN

2.1 General principles

IPSec (IP Security) is a set of protocols specifying essentially two aspects:

  • encapsulation of IP datagrams in other IP datagrams to provide classic security services: integrity, confidentiality, authentication, etc;

  • negotiation of the keys and security associations used during encapsulation.
