5. Traceability and information

Particular attention must be paid to the traceability of information as part of the dematerialization of exchanges. Ensuring the traceability of information makes it possible, on the one hand, to keep a trace of the operation carried out electronically, and on the other, to identify the interlocutor, generally the contracting party. It is therefore necessary to study the legal aspects of information traceability (5.1) and to present the various technical means used to trace information (5.2).

5.1 Legal aspects

The traceability of information generally consists of tracing the history, use or location of an item or activity from an identifier recorded during connection to an electronic communications network (Dictionnaire Informatique, Larousse, V° "Traçabilité")....
