3. Process

We have seen that RBM methods exist for building summaries and multi-summaries of textual, structured and multimedia documents. Furthermore, these methods can design extracts or abstracts, and they can build generic summaries or summaries meeting specific needs. Here, we analyze the main features of the RBM process that are common to all of them.

3.1 Main stages

The automatic summary production process can be broken down into four stages aimed at solving different problems (figure 3 ).
