6. DRAM computing near DRAM memory banks
6.1 Processor in DRAM technology with DRAM memory (UpMEM)
The opposite approach to the previous one (AMBIT) is to define a PIM (Processor in Memory) chip made up of DRAM memory and a processor called DPU, all manufactured using the same DRAM technology.
The PIM chips were designed by UPMEM in Grenoble. The PIM chips have been manufactured and tested in operational configurations.
