1. Tropospheric propagation

The phenomena involved in a tropospheric connection in both visibility and non-visibility have been developed by Boithias . Readers are invited to refer to this work. Only a summary of the main phenomena is given below.

1.1 Radio propagation in free space

This term refers to propagation in an unlimited, homogeneous medium where only the transmitter and receiver and their antenna exist. The dimensions of these elements are negligible in relation to the distance between them. There are no obstacles to interfere with propagation between the transmitter and receiver.
