3. DRM & Standardization

There are various reasons why the DRM market is slow to develop:

  • users don't find registration and authentication procedures practical;

  • publisher-distributors have not set up the internal content management systems that provide the necessary infrastructure for scalable network distribution;

  • DRM systems are not compatible with each other or with back-end management systems.
