3. Segment Routing IPv6 (SRv6)
SRv6 is the IPv6 transfer plan version of Segment Routing.
SRv6 identifies a segment by an IPv6 address.
In the transfer plan, SRv6 is a new type of IPv6 routing header (Routing Extension Header) called Segment Routing Header (SRH), shown in figure 15 . The SRH consists mainly of a list of IPv6 addresses identifying the segments to be traversed (Segment List), and a counter indicating the number of segments remaining to be traversed (Segments Left) in order to identify the next segment to be visited. It can also contain a list of data in TLV format. Finally, a "Tag" field can be used to identify a packet class.
