Segment ; Segment
An instruction that a node will execute on the received packet.
A segment can be a topological instruction such as routing the packet along the shortest path to the router identified by the IP address 192.0.2.1; routing the packet to a specific output interface.
A segment can also be a service instruction to apply processing to the packet.
Segment ID (SID)
A number identifying the segment, which can be specified in the Segment Routing packet header. For SRv6, this is an IPv6 address. For SR-MPLS, it may be a label or an index.
Segment de préfixe (IGP) ; (IGP) Prefix Segment (Prefix-SID)
Segment associated with a prefix (IGP), typically an IPv4 or IPv6 prefix.
