1.1.1 Satellite channel functions
The satellite payload channel has a dual function (table 1 ):
it must amplify the signals received from the uplink in order to retransmit them on the assigned downlink. At the receiver input, signals can have a power of the order of 100 pW to 1 nW. The amplifier's power gain must therefore be around 100 to 130 dB in order to provide an output signal of the order...
