The Android platform is constantly evolving. Here are a few examples.
Starting with version 2.3 of the Android platform, a new type of sensor has appeared that supports the NFC (Near Field Communication) system. This system enables the device equipped with it to communicate with other devices at close range. It enables the owner, for example, to pay using his or her device. The phone thus becomes a means of payment or electronic purse.
Versions 2.3.x are the ones used on small phones and tablets.
Versions 3.x are now available on large tablets and Internet-connected TVs.
