5. Generic MP-UDP approaches
This section describes solutions for establishing UDP communications over multiple paths that do not require tunneling.
Nor do these solutions rely on aggregation mechanisms inherent in tunneling technology (e.g. GTP bonding, GRE bonding), nor do they impose any changes on UDP-based applications.
In concrete terms, this section proposes two approaches for establishing UDP communication over multiple paths: the first uses MPTCP only for the information exchange phase of the IP addresses used for each of the paths supporting UDP communication, while the second dispenses with the use of MPTCP signaling.
