4. Comments on NB-IoT for NTN
This article presents elements relating to the use of the 5G NR waveform on an NTN system. Activities to adapt the waveform defined for NB-IoT to NTN scenarios are currently under discussion at 3GPP standardization. .
Although many of the principles defined for NTN with the 5G NR waveform could be reused, it is important to consider that the NB-IoT waveform is compatible with a 4G core network: many elements will then have to be adapted.
