4. Applications
Today, low-loss and non-loss FOS filters are essential components in a wide range of consumer products in the fields of broadcasting (TV, VCR, digital radio, etc.), radio communications (cell phones, local networks, cordless phones, etc.), security systems and automotive (wireless remote control). There are also applications in professional electronics, fiber optic transmission, satellite communications and wireless communication between computers.
It is on the basis of the specific features of the configurations that we can classify the fields of application for each of them. With regard to the critical parameters, the table 12 shows the most suitable possible applications for three of the main configurations, with their strengths and weaknesses.
