1. Oscillators

Oscillators have been developed in many different forms. Most use a resonant element made of dielectric, quartz or whose performance can be altered by a magnetic field (YAG) . The presence of this resonant element means that all these circuits include a hybrid-type part. But all these circuits can also include a monolithic part constituting a fixed oscillator or a varactor-tunable oscillator. We'll start by examining the conditions for oscillation start-up, followed by a look at large-signal behavior and low-noise conditions.
