These studies concern the use of spin waves (or magnons) to transport and process analog information directly in the ferromagnetic resonance frequency band.
These studies concern spin-transfer-induced microwave dynamics, the generation or detection of spin currents by spin-orbit interaction and their use in microwave dynamics, and the stabilization of new skyrmion-type magnetic phases. Discovered in 2009, magnetic skyrmions are small, stable spin clusters just a few nanometers in size, which can be manipulated to store information. They are attracting considerable interest as a means of increasing magnetic information storage density to its ultimate limit.
