electrodes/armatures; electrodes
Conductive parts inside a capacitor that allow electric current to flow and charge/discharge the capacitor.
dielectric; diélectrique
Insulating material between the electrodes, whose polarization enables electrical charges to be stored.
connections/contacts ; connections
Conductive parts on the outside of a capacitor, used to solder it to circuits and make electrical contacts.
dielectric breakdown; claquage diélectrique
An electric arc forms between the electrodes, destroying the dielectric.
paraelectric; paraelectric
Material with randomly oriented dipoles.
