3. Conclusion and outlook
The electrification of our societies, which began almost two centuries ago with the development of rotating machines, has continued unabated ever since. Today, it seems impossible to do without this energy vector, which we seem to need for lighting, information, communication, mobility and a high level of comfort. Power electronics, which plays an indispensable role in this context, is today concerned by two paradigms: the electrical performance of systems (efficiency and power density) and the concern for their sustainability, which goes hand in hand with a gradual awakening of consciences, prompted by numerous alerts from the scientific community.
