Based on a few examples, we present the principles of technologies currently used in a number of application fields. This is a constantly evolving sector, where the focus is on miniaturizing sensors and integrating them into photonic devices . In the very near future, miniaturized devices will benefit from perfect mastery of nanostructure fabrication, in particular magneto-photonic crystals .
