Protection against direct contact
The protection of persons against direct contact is ensured in connection installations by :
insulation of active parts for a voltage of at least 4 kV ;
out-of-reach by using IP 2x or IP XXB enclosures, which require a tool to open.

Protection against indirect contact
The protection of persons against indirect contact is ensured in connection installations by the use of :
Class II equipment (NF C 20-030) ;
pipes considered equivalent to Class II equipment;
peripheral neutral pipes.
