3. Personal protection

  • Protection against direct contact

    The protection of persons against direct contact is ensured in connection installations by :

    • insulation of active parts for a voltage of at least 4 kV ;

    • out-of-reach by using IP 2x or IP XXB enclosures, which require a tool to open.

  • Protection against indirect contact

    The protection of persons against indirect contact is ensured in connection installations by the use of :

    • Class II equipment (NF C 20-030) ;

    • pipes considered equivalent to Class II equipment;

    • peripheral neutral pipes.
