This folder and the file deal with protection against electric shock. In this section, we focus on protection against indirect shocks.

Indirect contact protection is also known as fault protection.

It is ensured by applying one or more of the following protective measures:

  • automatic power cut-off (§ 1 );

  • use of Class II equipment (§ 2.2 ) or equivalent insulation during installation (§ 2.3 );
