5. Introducing EVELINE software

5.1 Functions

In partnership with Matra Cap Systèmes, EDF is developing the EVELINE tool, which uses digital imagery to realistically reconstitute a landscape and interactively simulate the layout of a proposed line, so that it can be viewed from any vantage point.

Site reconstruction is obtained from digital terrain model files and aerial and satellite orthoimage files. EVELINE automatically reconstructs the site using data slicing to improve calculation performance.

The user has access to aerial views and a digital map of the region under study. The map will make it easier to find your way around, particularly thanks to the names of villages and roads.
